The problem
A dried-out cedar shake roof on a long ranch, leaking at every valley.
The shake had split and cupped, and water was getting in where the roof sections met. We tore it off, sheathed the old spaced decking with plywood, ran ice and water shield through every valley and finished in architectural shingles with a new ridge vent.
